Gave up on my crappy router and traded it in for a mesh bundle. Hardwired 3 with Ethernet backhaul, and holy moly, what a world of difference. Why I’m so stubborn and didn’t do this sooner, I don’t know.

It would be helpful if the popular GPS/mapping applications could detect when you’re already on a train/transit route and adjust the trip duration accordingly. The only way I’ve figured out how to get around this limitation is to put your starting point as the next transit stop.

My smile has always been a big source of insecurity. Honestly, it’s probably responsible for my severe case of RBF. I wish I’d tackled this sooner, but I’m finally in a place where I can afford to start clear aligners. Scheduling my appointment tomorrow.

    Another frosty morning.

A frosty field of bare trees under a bright sun with a clear blue sky.

You’ve just got to wonder about some of these Southwest Portland tax bills. Are you really getting that much better public services than, say, unincorporated Washington County, for 3x the cost? No, you’re not. The answer is no.

Whenever I pass this field, I can’t help but think of the default Windows XP wallpaper. Washington County, Oregon.

Rolling green fields stretch under a clear blue sky with sparse trees on the horizon.

I took my lunch, as I sometimes do, on Unger Road, looking east toward Mount Hood. The east wind is keeping the northern Willamette clear and cold. Morning wrapped us in freezing fog, with frost still clinging to the shadows behind hills and beneath trees, wherever the sun can’t reach.

A rural landscape features a winding road next to a fencing line, with distant mountains visible under a clear blue sky.

Actually took my meds today and spent some time this morning filling out my calendar for the month ahead. A tiny bit of relief for my ADHD brain having the chaos written down somewhere. I’ll still mess something up, but at least it won’t feel like the tail wagging the dog from now until New Year’s.

I’m getting excited about Ghost’s implementation of ActivityPub. I have used it to micro blog, but it doesn’t work well out of the box, so I had to create a highly customized theme. But it now looks like they’re working on short form posts and separate feeds for long vs short posts.

I wonder how often dogs are just like “I wish these people would quiet down already.” And then anytime they bark we’re shushing them. We don’t deserve them.

There’s always those people who email you something right before the weekend or heading into a holiday with a message that sits with you the whole time, stressing you out when you’re supposed to be relaxing. To hell with those people.
